Our History
"Arak Loutfy" started from an idea that originated in September 2020 - at the height of the Corona pandemic. Mr. Elias Loutfy benefited from the quarantine imposed on him and all the Lebanese, and he had stayed at that time in the town of Mayfouk – Jbeil district – where he could not continue his usual travel in his work, where he is mainly a specialist in financial sciences and works for his own in the field of paper and cardboard trade in the Arab countries. The closure of borders and airports created a space for him to launch an idea that developed into a professional project for the manufacture of the authentic Lebanese ARAK. On September 26, 2020, he bought only his first 8 tons of Obaidi grapes from the Lebanese Bekaa region, squeezed and wined them and turned them into Spirito and from there into luxurious his ARAK, using a juicer and a small eight-tank distiller that his father Abdullah Loutfy used to produce Arak for domestic use in Mayfouk.

Pressing is the act of applying pressure to grapes or pomace in order to separate juice or wine from grapes and grape skins. Pressing is not always a necessary act in winemaking; if grapes are crushed there is a considerable amount of juice immediately liberated (called free-run juice) that can be used for vinification. Typically this free-run juice is of a higher quality than the press juice.
